Book Review:

Title: Seven Little Postmen	Author: Margaret Wise Brown
Illustrator: Tibor Gergely
Characters: Seven little Postmen, Grandmother, Boy, Sally, Sam. Mrs. Potter, Mrs. Pickens, Mrs. McCarty.	Plot: A boy that had a secret that had been a surprise for someone in his family. And gets sent to the person he had wanted to give it too.
Problem: A young boy who had seven little kitten’s and had wanted to go to his grandmother’s house so he could give a kitten to her so she wouldn’t be alone.	Solution: They solved it because her mother was so surprised that her grandson had written a letter for her and had said yes he could come over to her house any time.
Your opinion of the story: I really enjoyed it because it had great picture’s and told me what really had happened.	Illustration of a character doing something from the story

The Rainbow Bird

On a stunning sunny day there were a bunch of birds hiding in a tall tree. One day it started to rain and after awhile a rainbow appeared. The birds were jealous because the butterflies and insects had colours on them but they didn’t. Two of the the birds got flower petals and berries to make them colourful, but it didn’t work.

Suddenly they looked up at the sky and they saw that the rainbow looked a bit strange . They saw a beautiful colourful bird landing down on the short tree next to them. The bird first said “my name is Phoenix, and I need your help to save the rainbow because it’s losing its colours and is getting eaten by the roaches”. Some of the birds flew up with him to save the rainbow. The roaches saw the birds flying up to the rainbow so they got into a big group and started flying to the birds. The roaches were crawling all over the birds. One of the birds came up with an idea, he said why don’t we eat the roaches.

They ate all the roaches but their were still some on the rainbow to so lucky they ate and saved the rainbow. The birds looked at the rainbow while it was growing back it colours.

Next they went through the rainbow and they were all colourful, the birds flew back to the tree but the other birds that didn’t go were jealous that they weren’t colourful. THE END

Bracket Fungi

A Bracket Fungi look’s like a shell. Some people call it Bracket Fungi ,Flying Fungi. A Bracket Fungi is shaped as a shell.

Flying Fungi are like mushroom’s. Once a tree is infected the Flying Fungi can’t be killed. The Fungi smells a little bit like a mushroom. Bracket Fungi are not plants. They absorb their food from rotting wood.

New Bracket fungi can grow from spores. They usually grow on tree stumps or on trunks of dead or rotting trees. They can also help break down trees.

Holes

This story is about a boy called Stanley who got bullied from children his age. He was sent to Camp Green Lake where it was very hot. There was a lake but there wasn’t anything in it, because it got dried up. Mr Pedanski showed him to his room. Stanley slept in a cot the smlled like sour milk.

The next day he had to dig holes that were two meters deep and two meters wide. After an hour he went to his bed room and Mr Pedanski said that he needed to go for a shower. He only was allowed to go for a shower for 4 minutes. Mr Pedanski showed him where the shower was, he grabbed his soap and started washing his body but he didn't get to finish his shower because the water stopped. 

I like this story and I looking forward to finding out what happens at the end of it.

Snake!

A yellow bellied sea snake can eat fish eggs and small fish including eels. There tails are really flat and they use it like paddles

to swim.

Every two weeks they shed their skin and they can grow up to a meter In length.

It’s venom is more poisonous than a cobra’s. When you think Its dead it will still be able to bite you with it’s venom after an hour of it dying.

Did you know they can breath air but they can also stay under water up to three hours? If you find one call the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry .

If you ever see a yellow bellied sea snake or banded sea snake do not touch It even If you think It dead. You might find them at the beach.

I knelt beside/next to Diggity.  He made no effort/move to get up.  His neck was a pulpy mass/pile of blood, and his rib cage rose and fell unevenly/not the same.   Dad scooped/pick up  him into his arms and staggered/ unsteadily walked up the beach.  Mum and Lucy were already in the car with the hatch/boot up and engine running.  The vet said Diggity had lost heaps/lots of blood.  The outlook/sight wasn’t good.  When the phone rang/ringing later that evening, nobody was in a hurry to answer/respond to it.  But Diggity did survive.
